LECTORS - PLEASE NOTE

Additional Procedure for Lectors

Beginning October 24/25, 2009 Through June 19/20, 2010

 The first reader will proceed to the ambo with a songbook (Breaking Bread) about 2-3 minutes before the beginning of Mass and say,

         Good morning (afternoon, or evening). Please join me in praying the prayer for priests found in the front of the Breaking Bread book.

 Wait briefly for everyone to locate prayer, then begin:
        Dear Lord,
       we pray that the Blessed Mother
       wrap her mantle around your priests
       and through her intercession
        strengthen them for their ministry.

        We pray that Mary will guide your priests
        to follow her own words,
         “Do whatever He tells you.”

        May your priests have the heart of St. Joseph,
       Mary’s most chaste spouse.
        May the Blessed Mother’s own pierced heart
       inspire them to embrace all who suffer at the foot of the cross.

        May your priests be holy,
        filled with the fire of your love
       seeking nothing but your greater glory
        and the salvation of souls.
                        Amen.

        Saint John Vianney, pray for us.

 After the prayer has been said, use the ramp to proceed to the right of the front of the altar and wait for the procession.  Continue as usual.

                                               March 2010

 

During Lent there is no Processional so take your seat before Mass. There is a Recessional. The readings for the Scrutinies will be available in the Vesting Sacristy starting this weekend. Please pick up a copy of your readings at least the week before your scheduled readings.

Also, for Easter this year (April 4) we will be using the sign-up format for lectors. So if you are available to lector on Easter please be sure to sign up. In addition, there will also be an extra (early) Sunday Mass at St. Madeleine’s which is to be at 7:30 AM.
